Celonis expands startup ecosystem around Celonis EMS

BlogProcess in Practice

Besides the ongoing trend of consulting firms leveraging the Celonis technology to improve their services, Celonis is seeing an acceleration in new startups being founded around highly specialized verticalized or horizontal Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) products built on the Celonis Execution Management System (EMS)

Startups to the roster already include Apolix, Czentric, DataLane, Ditro, Logatik, Marcadus, OFi, Osapien, Process&, ProcessGeek, ProcessLab, Process Owl, Simple, TRic and VisualFlow.

EMS is the world leading platform to access and interact with enterprise data, enabling a quick start into endless vertical and/or horizontal use cases along business processes. New Ventures leverage EMS to build domain products in a highly predictable way, speeding up time-to-market, decreasing overall development costs and lowering risk.

With 200 Assets already created by our Service Partners, the EMS is the leading platform for process specific vertical / horizontal use-case Domain Products. Typical industry specific Products are built in Financial Services, Life Science, Manufacturing, Higher Education and process specific Products in Logistics, HR, Supply Chain or Production.

Most of these startups have used the Celonis EMS for services engagements and then evolved to offer tailored SaaS products geared toward specific business problems.

According to Christoph Kisker, Vice President of Digital Consulting at Celonis, startups are utilizing various Celonis offerings including:

  • Celonis for Consulting Program to seamlessly bundle the startups’ vertical or horizontal EMS Domain Products with Services to solve specific business problems

  • EMS Product Building Journey with ideation and pre-defined use case workshops supported by Celonis technical EMS experts including Credits for Technical Trainings

  • Venture Incubation, Mentoring and best-practice Blueprints for EMS SaaS businesses

  • Startup Community of Entrepreneurs, Senior Celonis Advisors, and Celonis Customers

Fabian Baldauf, Head of Digital Consulting EMEA & APAC at Celonis, added:

“Global services companies such as McKinsey, IBM, Accenture and PwC are using Celonis to accelerate and differentiate their Consulting and Audit portfolio while Independent Software Vendors such as Emporix have built applications on top of the Celonis EMS. Now is the time to unleash the world's largest New Venture Ecosystem on EMS.”

"As we rapidly increase the number of startups built on EMS, we'll offer more services and support. Future value for startups could include Funding, Event Sponsorships and Shared Resourcing," added Kisker.
